What would I need to do as a Autopedia.co.uk Panel member?
As a panel member you will be invited to take part in various research surveys throughout the year. The majority of these will be online surveys, however on occasions we may wish to invite you to take part in phone, postal, one to one or group interviews. You don't have to take part in all the surveys or invitations we send you, but it would be helpful if you could complete as many as possible. The surveys may ask questions on a range of topics including current products and services within the Motor and Travel trades at Autopedia.o.uk, new products being launched or introducing into our review section/s, new business ideas and so on. We don't wish to abuse your time, so we will usually try to limit the invites to a maximum of 1 or 2 per month.
What happens if I don't do any surveys?
Under normal circumstances we are unlikely to contact you more than once a month and you are under no obligation to participate in any survey. However, if after several attempts you do not participate in any surveys, we may contact you asking if you wish to continue to be a member. If we have had no communication or confirmation that you wish to remain a member, we may consider you an inactive member and we reserve the right to be able to remove you from the Panel.
Why do you ask general questions about me in the registration?
In order for us to understand how different customers think and view products and services, it is useful to have a broader understanding about you, for example your age, gender and whether you are a particular Purchaser of goods, trades person or a DIY'er. This also allows us to target surveys to specific groups who will find it most relevant.
Why do you need my customer number and/or receipt/invoice details?
The Autopedia.co.uk Panel is a community of Members of the public and Autopedia.co.uk Customers and as such we do run verification checks to ensure that only genuine customers are giving us feedback.
Why am I asked to enter a PANEL ACCESS CODE?
The panel access code is a code helps us to ensure that only genuine Autopedia.co.uk reviewers or customers are invited to the panel and also enables us to understand how you found out about the panel.
Why do you need my contact details (name, address, email address etc) and is it safe?
We ask for these details for a number of reasons; 1) so that we can communicate with you personally, rather than just "Dear panelist". 2) To assist in your Panel membership validation as a genuine Autopedia.co.uk reviewer - customer. 3) In case we have other research projects that we may wish to invite you to. You may rest assured that your personal information is stored with the utmost care and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1988 and will never be sold or used by any third parties.
Why is the registration process in two parts?
The Panel registration process is split into two parts to form a "double opt-in" process. Firstly we want to validate your email address so that no one other than you can register with the Panel without you knowing and to obtain your agreement with our Panel Terms and Conditions. An automatic email is then sent to your inbox for you to verify you wish to join the panel and to complete the registration process. The process aims to ensure we are communicating with you to the right email address and that only the person with access to the registration email address can verify the registration (obviously you should be aware that if you have a shared email address or have given someone else access to your inbox they may be able to join using this address).
How do I change/update my profile?

On very rare occasions we may work with trusted 3rd party companies and include questions that they would like to ask. If we send you a survey where a 3rd party will have access to the results, we will inform you of this in the invitation, so that you can opt-out of the survey if you wish.
Will I see any of the survey results?
Unfortunately we are not always able to publish results to all of the surveys we conduct for Panel members to see, as they may contain commercially sensitive information. However we will try to provide feedback when we are able and also notify you of important decisions or changes that have been made as a result of your input. Please rest assured your answers are important and we do take into account comments that you make, however we are unable to respond individually to any points raised.

The second option is to log-in to the members' area of our web site using the Username and Password you first registered with us, and select the "Surveys to do" menu. We always try to keep our surveys short so that they don't take too long for panel members to complete. If a survey is much longer than normal, we may offer an incentive as a way of saying thank you for giving us more of your time.
Participation in each survey is voluntary and members can unsubscribe from the panel at any time.
What if I'm away when a survey is sent to me?
You are not expected to do every survey. If when you get back the survey is still then you will be able to complete it. If not just delete it and wait until you are invited to another one.
How long do surveys remain valid?
Usually surveys need to be completed within a week of the invite being sent, however you may have more or less time for certain surveys. In all surveys you receive the closing date will be clearly stated.
Why do I have less time to complete some surveys than others?
If we have sufficient time to leave a survey open, we will, however there are occasions when we need a rapid response to an urgent business requirement, and on these surveys we may we may need to conduct a survey very quickly. This may mean that the survey is only available for a much shorter period of time.
What happens if I have to stop a survey in the middle?
The survey is not completed until you reach the end page confirming you have completed it. Should you have to stop in the middle and close the survey, don't worry, simply click back on the link that you have been sent and as long as the survey is still open, you will be able to finish it. Also, please note any previous answers will be saved, so you will not need to re-answer all of the questions.
